i bought the mag, especially for this when it came out. the whole issue was dedicated to acid house and we thought it might at least represent the genre slightly...

i have to say, me and chrissi thought this was one of the most poorly mixed and programmed cd's ever. very, very dissapointed. why ask josh wink anyway? why not dj pierre or farley jackmaster???? or someone who really is acid house??

    bah mags know shit :hissyfit:

look, i know the problem with doing mix cd's - ya cant get all the tracks you want. but at least make an effort mate. this was awful imho :(

This was a computer mixed CD. There's NO WAY you can bring in Jesus Loves The Acid from the very beginning and have the beats fall right where you want them to. Indeed a very odd track selection. I just got done listening to it. They were probably hoping to have a broader audience listen to the CD by having a rather well known DJ mix it, over a more obvious but not as known DJ. However, if anyone here hasn't heard Josh Wink's 20to20, i urge you to check it out! Top notch Acid House.

You didn't come across as harsh, this CD is shite. I had high hopes, but as per usual Mixslag blew it.

I too bought the mag in the vain hope that it would bring back the memories of that period, but all it did was confirm my loathing for the mag. Made me yearn for the days of Wax, Dream Creation and Muzik. I confess I haven't even listened to the CD yet. Too busy looking for new stuff to play.
