I have just noticed the same thing too. Im trying to find out exactly whats slowing things down.
some days im surprised the internet works at all.

i get that error most times i log in from home on the crappy dial up - just refresh and it goes away... also sometimes a blank screen with something like 'critical error connecting to database' written in the corner
