Hi there people,

First, a big thank you to everyone who came to the April 11th pure techno,
it was another great night thanks to you guys!
For anyone who wasn't there, you missed 3 amazing sets :-P

So to the new stuff, It's Pure Techno's 4th birthday party on the 9th of may @ the welly
& we've two of underground techno's most respected and exciting names appearing,
they're also two of my favourite producers, so i'm well bloody chuffed to have them on =]

MAKATON: steve "makaton" bailey, owner of the fantastic Rodz-Konez label which has hosted tracks
by some top producers [including rather obviously: makaton, but also: regis, inigo kennedy,
Olga+Jozef, Fumiya Tanaka, Female, paul bailey, 65D mavericks + more].
Makaton's sound is industrial, atmospheric + forward thinking, truly unique music in a sea of clones.

MARK HAWKINS: Currently residing in nottingham where he's resident at the fantastic Pure Filth,
mark is another producer with a truly unique sound, i think my best description would be:
twisted and slamming [check out the links below].

Mark also runs his own label "CRIME" and has had releases + remixes on a load of labels including:
Djax-Up-Beats, Neue Heimat, 4 x 4 Recordings, Chancer, Mosquito.

Firstly a massive thank you to Mark Hawkins and Makaton, and also a big apology concerning the way events panned out.

Idiotek was on the warm-up and put in an entertaining hour of Live set, his first live set and was a little nervous before hand. It was his 30th Birthday as well!

The Pure Techno regulars were there as usual to lend support but sadly due to a low turnout the club closed early, the upside is that we all decamped to the Editorial bar and the festivities carried on into the early hours. With Mark Hawkins playing his heart out on a hastily put together system.

thanks for the report chris, just to reiterate:

thanks to mark and steve for being so understanding, and to everyone who helped pull a party out of thin air.
and a BIG thanks to chris and everyone else who came out to play.
ended up going a lot better than it could've =]

i may post up the recording of my live set, but i think it's a bit too embarrasing.
