Can any one recommend any decent small laptops? I need something as compact as you can get that would run fruity and cubase etc Decent priced ones too, because I am piss poor.

The ASUS EEE pc wont run cubase, its only 900mhz and runs on Linux.
Try one of the 12" ones.
Ooop, you did already. hence the limp.
i know they run on linux, but i'm sure i've read that they will run on xp?
edit:
some of the higher end ones come with it installed, and you can put it on the others: http://www.eeeguides.com/2007/11/ins...usb-thumb.html
still, might not be up to the task though eh? :/

i was going to buy an eee 900, but the initial run comes with small battery. all i wanted was a portable writing device. i just bought an acer 12" aspire 2920. bought it for 450. there were cheaper laptops with better cpu, but i was looking for battery life and small size. i had to remove lots of junk from it, but it seems ok. sure it would run cubase, not sure how many vsts you could use though.

i know many people with laptops from acer , they are very cheap and the hardware is allways powerfull
forget the ASUS EEE pc´s they are low end products , made for reading documents and navegate in the internet
