Default Check this - Rock Solid Music PC Quad-Core System!

You know when you get something and you just have to tell the world cause you're so proud???? Now's one of those times

I actually did quite a bit of research on this (well, a few hours heheh) and I'm so happy to say the recommendations have been spot on! This PC is ROCK solid! Wasn't too difficult to put together either. Total cost approx 800 quid all sourced from ebuyer, scan and aria.

    Yesterday I got 20 tracks of audio going @ 2 % CPU.
Took me putting about another 20 plugins on them to get it up to 5% :)

    Motherboard -Asus P5Q-E
    CPU - Intel Quad Core Q6600 @ 2.4GHz
Cooler - Zalman CNPS 9700 LED
    Memory - Corsair Dominator 4GB (2x2GB) @ 1066MhZ with it's own fan kit.
    Storage - Seagate 250GB, 500GB, DVD Burner
Graphics - Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 4850
    PSU - Corsair Modular 620W
    Case - Antec P182

Yesterday, I also successfully overclocked the shit out of it @ 3Ghz!!!!! If anyone gets this EXACT specification (minus the storage) here's the settings in the bios to change:

    CIE - DISABLE
    CPU TM - DISABLE
    INTEL SPEEDSTEP - DISABLE
    -------------
    AI - MANUAL
    CPU RATIO - 09.0
    FSB - 333
    DRAM FREQ - DDR2 1066
TIMING - MANUAL (5,5,5,15 SHOULD COME UP AUTOMATICALLY UNDERNEATH)
    -------------
    CPU VCORE VOLTAGE - 1.30
    DRAM VOLTAGE - 2.1

Don't forget to run OCCT or Prime95 (Tortute Test) to check ya system is stable after :)

Now mark, I know its possibly a little backward , but do what I did and turn it into a Mac (Hackintosh)

Quite easy to do, and you have a Mac Pro for a damn site less money.

Mine runs 100% stable with logic 8.0.2 :)

That was actually a pretty high price to pay for that spec.

    Mark...

How many PCI slots does it have ? Also USB slots ?

I'm looking for a Mobo with them so I don't have to sell my TC Poco cards and the only one I can find with some is the Intel DP35DP which is getting on a bit now.

Didn`t know you were looking for a Quadcore.
    Woulda told you otherwise.

Regardless you`ve got a shit hot machine that you are probably insanely happy with. And you won`t need to upgrade for some time now.
I`m running a superquad myself, and it`s just great, I`ve yet to reach the limit with it.
