recording out and back into ableton

hi guys im tryin to play a kick from ableton through my emu1820m into a focusrite compounder then record it back in ableton but end up creating a feedback loop all the time anyone have any tampletes for the 1820m or know a way round this

What program are you using to record it with?

Make sure you aren't monitoring the channel you are playing through, otherwise the recording will always feedback.

Thats it right there... mute your recording channel.. remember, mutes are generally for playback
