    Is it for home use?
I got one of these puppys which was savage. Proper work horse.

Basic, but does the job and is pretty decently priced at about 100 quid.

Avoid vestax. Overpriced for what they are, not that great either.

Theres the cheapy pisstake behringer copy of the DJM600
    http://www.decks.co.uk/products/behringer/DJX700

If its bedroom use the soundquality isn't that important, and nothing sounds amazing for under 200. Behringer build quality not the greatest, but you'll probably grow out of it in a few years anyway and want something better.
Numark do a fairly good bang for your buck in that price range, worth considering if you want new.

Personally I'd see what you could pick up second hand though. You could probably steal a djm500 2nd hand, and would be far better than anything you can get in that price range new.

here ya go, djm500 for 200, 250 buy it now

Much better off buying an expensive 2nd hand than a cheap new. Build quality on the expensive models means that even after heavy use you'll get components and build quality that the cheap ones can't come close to

I highly reccomend checking out the Ecler Range. If you went second hand you should be able to get a nuo 5 or so for around 200 if your lucky. Best investment I ever made was my Ecler mixer. I had a Hak320 and battered the thing to death for 4 years and it was still working in perfect condition with all the original faders.

Vestax are great mixers. I am on my 4th one at the moment. EQ's are super smooth, design is simple and easy to figure out. I always go for vestax because I dont use any of the filters or efx in Allen and Heath and Pioneer.

Watch out for the Behringer, in my opinion terrible mark. Their channels leak after only a couple months of use.

Yeah, I still have that stanton, the xfader is f*cked on it . The vol controls are still hanging in there but only barely!

That DJM you got was like new cos the house heads just don't hammer them that much. What a feckin bargain!

i'm in process of buying a djm 400 - absolute quality. £345 good price aswell.

if your spending around £200 i would consider these mixers: -

    http://www.htfr.com/more-info/MR150597

handbuilt, UREI, this is a quality mixer which was once £500

or this gemini one, don't laugh anyone please, Gemini make good bedroom mixers.

http://www.htfr.com/more-info/MR184865 only £150 notes got everything u need.

steer clear of anything made by behringer that has audio passing thru it.

urei is a very safe bet. they make proper quality gear.

dude, its behringer. the sound is weaker than a kitten with aids. theres absolutly no comparison to a urei. urei are simply quality audio gear. behringer is kiddies stuff for the bedroom.

just have a search on the high end gear that urei and universal audio have produced thru the years and then compare it to behringer.

behringer will last (ive used their midi controllers for 4 years now with no problems) but its the components used in the signal chain for audio that lets them down. horrendously.

mine was only for bedroom use so I can't comment on the live aspect of that particular model.

behringer make disposable gear. Generally the lowest quality components that can be sourced. Use then throw away...

I had two vestax mixers, decent components but didn-t think they were that decent for the money they charge. You pay a lot for the slinky looks and the vestax brand. The eqs and faders were good quality, but I didn-t particularly like any of them, and they started to annoy me after a while. Remind me of allen and heath, spend too much time noodling around with slinky looks and individually good components, but the mixer doesn't work as a tool.

But comes down to taste. Some people love A&H and vestax. Suppose you have to experiment really, find out what tool works best for you.

2nd hand the way to go though I reckons for 200 notes
