    I quite like packs like these

    Sort of like loop packs - I'd never use them as a substitute for doing stuff myself, but sometimes when you're lacking in inspiration, you can cycle through lots of loops, midi files etc and "hear" somethign amidst it all that you want to use. Its good food for thought, if nothign else.

    I still hit "randomise" on step sequencers a lot, just wire in a synth, patch it all up then keep hitting randomise till I hear something I want to use.

    Theres loads of MIDI files from commercial tracks but theres nothing to stop you altering (or butchering) them to your hears content! :)
