    Default how to reconfigure ide bus for atapi cd burner

    Look, I have been having this problem with burning software when I try to simply copy a cd and states that my ide bus needs to be reconfigured..... If anyone know or has advice- let me know. Later :?:

    i don't really know exactly what the prob is but this is the checklist i'd do to get things running:

    what cd burner are you using? get the most uptodate drivers from their website for the burner and make sure it's the correct os... xp installed mine itself beautifully but some might not.

    did you put the cd in yourself? if so make sure it's connected the right way on the ide cables. ie master/slave etc etc

    start up the comp. check if it works.... if not, uninstall old drivers.. install the new drivers.

    check if it works...

    it should do...


    anyone else got any good advice?

    Default reconfigure ide

    It sounds like you maybe you need to change the jumper configuration on the cd-rom i.e. The jumper is set to slave and the drive is patched into master or vice versa. If you have two cd-roms it's normally best to separate them onto two ide cables...worth a go anyway...
