    Ok. It's about that time. What do you all think is the best album of 2009?

    haven't really listened to many albums this year, per se. but one of my favorites in 2009 has been Locke's "Wenn Die Locke Sich Dreht"

    it will get classified as "minimal," but about half the tracks are not even remotely minimalist. a recurring trend! very melodic, in often unusual ways.

    another one i really like, for many of the same reasons, is ben klock's album "one" on ostgut

    Not heard that many albums either but it has to be the PAS album on ostgot really. 'real' techno of a quality i havent heard in a while.

    last one i listened and was great: Jori Hulkkonen - Man From Earth
    one of the best in 2009 for me

    'temporary suspension' yeah. i absolutely love the title track but there are plenty of other tunes on there that get me going. mark me, hold it, enter action, on the def and others.

    its just very apparant that mr slater is a very experienced producer by now. its definitely dancefloor techno but there's lots of depth still and i love him for pushing the tempo up (on a german 'minimal/house' label even).

    Just listening to some samples on that PAS album and was very impressed. Some fresh chunky slabs of techno goodness goin on there.
