Ephedrix are Jochem Peeters and Joris Marckx from Belgium. Their uplifting melodies, groovy percussion, crystal clear bass lines and a pumping sound has made them one of the most prominent figures in the Belgian psytrance scene. And it wasn’t long before their unique style was picked up by party promoters around the world. In 2005 they joined with Belgian label Dacru records. After various releases in compilations the debut full album 'Far Away' was out in April 2008, which was met with instant success!
On September 24th, 2009 Ephedrix released their second album, ‘Expander’, a remix special with contributions by artists from around the globe: Silicon Sound, Protoculture, Talamasca, Chronos, DNA, Aquila, Electro Sun and more. All tracks breathe the true Ephedrix spirit of playful melodic and driving beats. Having built a reputation throughout the years with their energetic live act, this energy will also be felt in the new tracks. FAR TOO LOUD (Funkatech Records, UK)





Far Too Loud, a.k.a. Oli Cash, has gained a significant reputation in dance music
for quality, dancefloor-destroying production. Originally rooted in breakbeat, the
FTL sound was quickly recognized as being something different through the influence
of other styles of dance music. Over the past four years the sound has developed and
diversified but maintained the mix of hard-hitting beats, dirty basslines, detailed
production and twisted sound design that has set FTL apart from the rest. This is
evident from the full-on tech-breaks monster “Get High”, which was awarded Best
Single at Breakspoll 2007, to the electro mix of Lily Allen’s “Not Fair”, which was
liked so much that it became part of Lily’s live show and another remix was
subsequently commissioned.

Signed to the burgeoning Funkatech records, Far Too Loud has released a string of
singles and remixes that have found their way into the record bags of numerous top
DJs, playlists of top radio stations and tune-of-the-month slots in major dance
music publications. The recognition received through these releases has seen Far Too
Loud DJing all over the world including club appearances in China, Russia and
throughout Europe, as well as two US tours and regular appearances in native UK. The
FTL vibe has been a winner particularly at festivals and rocked crowds at
Glastonbury, Glade, Boom, Burning Man and many more. 2008 saw DJ sets from both the
Breakspoll Awards and Glastonbury Festival broadcast on BBC Radio 1 and also the
introduction of a live laptop-based set of all-original material, mixing up classic
FTL tracks with new beats and psychedelic effects into a peak-time dancefloor
experience.

Since 2009 FTL has changed from duo to solo act with original member Dom Smart
leaving to concentrate on a new solo venture. Now under the sole direction of Oli,
who has already singularly produced key FTL tracks and is no stranger to working
solo under the name, the act is as strong as ever with plenty of exciting things to
come!

madness galore in store for you lucky peeps!! Brace yourself for breath

There's been some late emails inquiring about performance and people wanting
to get involved, whilst all stage slots\budgets for performers have been
finalised if your an artist, dancer, costume creator or off~the~wall
character we're always on the look out for kooky and crazy walkabout
creatures and roaming characters to create drama on the dancefloor! The most
vital component to our event and efforts will be rewarded with free entry
and goblin perks! ;)

Since then Krunch have been busy touring the world, hitting some of the most famous

Moustachioed vaudevillian cabaret performer professor of thaumatology Alexander Wells
will be bringing an incredible stage show to add to the sensory delights of The Masked Ball!

Magical Sideshow. Alexander has been performing at cabaret and variety nights across
the North of England for a number of years. He is an experienced practicioner of the
magical arts and started performing professionally more than 15 years ago. He has
entertained crowds at outdoor events and festivals for private and corporate clients
in the North and South of England. His style of illusion blends humour and wonder
into believable old world magic!

Manchester’s Merriest Maniacs Send of the Ritz in Style!

As the old saying goes, all good things must eventually come to an end and whilst illumiNaughty, Manchester’s most psychedelic club night, is still going strong, its 5th bday on 11th Feb will mark the end of an era for the legendary Ritz Ballroom! This old theatre will soon be closing its doors as HMV takes over. Whilst evolution is always welcome and change inevitable, the creative team behind illumiNaughty are planning to bid a very special adieu to the Ballroom, which has been a spiritual home for their Digital Theatre these past years. It seemed only fair to honour The Ritz’s theatrical legacy in style and so a suitably marvellous ‘Masked Ball’ has been conceived.

As a parting farewell, The Ritz Ballroom (as we know it) will house one last magnificent masquerade to exceed all others, illumiNaughty are pulling out all the stops! Mysterious, masked and mischievous this unusual band of theatrical merry makers will unleash their own brand of theatrical chaos amongst the crowd, who are as always encouraged to don their most outrageous costumes and outlandish persona’s in public! Baroque beauties, gyrating jesters, old world magic shows and dancing dolls will parade across the stage, 10ft goddesses and grinning puppet-masters shimmying and slinking across the dance floor throughout the night. Live cabaret, epic interactive performances, a Transformation Station and many other sensory indulgences will be on offer to the crowd who are as diverse and open minded as the night itself!

illumiNaughty’s key strength is the unique and creative atmosphere it constantly creates. Hyperactive, hardcore and hilarious it has become internationally renowned for its off-the-wall ambience and unpredictable turn of events. Immersing yourself in the illumiNaughty world is like visiting another planet where insanity is an advantage and intensity is always guaranteed! Involving dancers, artists, DJ’s and decor makers locally as well as from overseas it selects only the hardest working, most innovative creative folk to join its rank and now has a huge multi-cultural family as its driving force!

This time headliners include trance mammoth Krunch (Israel) at the musical helm, splicing his very own exceptional mixture of trance and hard dance alongside side Ephedrix (Belgium), a fellow heavy weight in the electronic domain. Both DJ’s have wowed crowds across the globe with their seamless beat weaving and will inevitably push energy levels sky high with the choicest selection of pumping basslines, heavenly melodies and funked-up fluctuations. Psy-breaks pioneer Far Too Loud will also be turning up the heat with heart racing bleeps and squeaks, a returning favourite to the illumiNaughty event pledging utter experimental audio carnage! Madness, magic and merriment abound this explosion of audio and visual extravagance will blow audiences away. Amazing laser light shows, live theatre, walk-about characters, body painters and illusionists let loose, illumiNaughty is part-club night, part-circus, part-madhouse and will take no prisoners as trance, trickery and tantalisation merge in a fantasy world of epic proportions.
