    See also Max/MSP, SuperCollider, c-sound (Kyma and Eventide if you want your processing outboard) etc.

    All fantastic but you really have to be arsed to learn 'em. Reaktor is the easiest I've tried so far.

    my first vst synth beta coded in c++ should be out in next couple of weeks. I'm expecting some good feedback & bug reports from all the cubase lovers

    learning max/msp at the minute.. your right it is a pain in the arse to learn but if you've ever done C (or other programming before) its not really that tricky... - + found it more flexible and not as good looking as reaktor.....
    Need pluggo though and there new "Jitter" library.... awesome....like max/msp or reaktor but for visuals! works within max aswell so it can all be worked in with each other..... the potential is mind blowing.... MAC only though.... damn you MAC users...

    No way have i got time to start building software synths, I dont have enough time for music let alone designing the instruments, i would rather spend that time studying music theory than programming bloody computers, someones got to do it, ;) though just not me
    STAR WARS IS ALMOST AS CRAP AS TOLKIEN
