Nice one cheers mark..The bit i'am struggling with is how to get that sort of chugging along sound a bit like heard in this

Is it just a complexed groove? Can you or anyone tell me how you go about creating this? Video links tips would be cool!

pretty good tune. it's developing nicely. i am lacking bith of thump, but what's there works fine inthe context.

Not sure what is the question regarding the video you posted?

I can hear the chugging thing in there, I really can. The chug is defo centralised around the 2nd beat clap I think but it's the sub rhythms that work in between it. Get your kick clean as hell, get the clap, then go to town on ONLY subby stuff. The clue is in what happens @ 2.55. Then once you have that it's question of painting the rest of your picture with this strong foundation. Hope this helps.

Nice one cheers mark yes that definitely helps A LOT! especially @2.55 you can really hear the chug sound.so is that a vst you would use for the sub stuff or are you meaning the sub parts of the kick and clap?

Also what is a good vst to use for sub bass in techno?

No no, I mean the sub bass.

Easy to nail this: Use the operator in Ableton for a nice clean SB.. or even sub boom bass. Hell any vst synth will do as long as ya use sine at the start. FM is good as it's easy to add overtones. You must shape ya sound though. Then it's about overdrive or subtle distortion - just mho :)
