    Default minimal techno production..........

how do they get those tracks sounding so clean??

all those little blips, bleeps, static sounds, sound really nice, do they use mostly hardware? or is it just good mastering?

less sounds means also that u can have much more space/ detail 4 each 1! ;)

Also it helps that most guys doing it are "old timmers", i.e. been producing 4 a load of time, so they have learned how 2 take advantadge of every piece of kit/ software they have...

Yeah I figured it was because a lot of those producers have been around a long time, cause those tracks sound so clean!

seems to me that making decent, funky minimal is damn difficult. you can't just load a drum sampler with a bunch of toms and go crazy...
plus, the sounds have to all be right and work together. you gotta have enough variation to keep it interesting without overdoing it.

i have theory about minimalistic sound creation : i used to mix many mid range sounds and smash them by many FX vst's. in the end, some compression, end we get one very huge minimalistic sound. but i'm not kinda in min-tech
